How do I change the scopes granted to a user?

Objective

This article shows you how to review and change the scopes a single Identity Management user is allowed, so applications can request only the access that user should be able to grant.

Product

Identity Management

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Identity & security in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Identity Management, then Users.
  3. Select the user you want to change.
  4. Select the Scopes tab.
  5. Review the table of scopes, listed by Name and Description. Scopes labelled Implicit are granted to every user automatically.
  6. Select Edit allowed scopes.
  7. Add or remove scopes, then save.
  8. A confirmation appears and the table shows the updated scopes.

Additional Information

Implicit scopes cannot be edited or removed, they are always present on every user.

If the user has no scopes beyond the implicit ones, the tab shows No allowed scopes with an Add allowed scopes button that opens the same editor.

The update may take a few seconds to appear.
