How do I start over or close the Conversations sandbox demo?

Objective

You may want to run the demo again from a clean slate, or leave it entirely. This article explains the difference between starting over and closing, and what each one discards.

Product

Twilio Conversations

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Home in the left sidebar.
  2. In the Try it out section, open the Orchestration tab and select Explore sandbox to return to the sandbox.
  3. To run the demo again with the same details, select Start over. The current conversation and its history are discarded and you are returned to the setup form, ready to launch a fresh session.
  4. To leave the sandbox entirely, select Close and clear history in the header. The conversation is cleared and your saved demo phone number is removed, so the next visit starts from an empty form.
  5. Closing returns you to wherever you came from, the product overview page you entered from, or the account home page.

Additional Information

  • Start over is only available once a session is running. It is unavailable while you are still on the setup form.
  • Start over keeps your saved phone number, so the setup form comes back prefilled. Close and clear history removes it.
  • Both actions discard the conversation rather than ending it, so its history goes with it.
  • Demo conversation content is deleted after your session ends either way.
  • If clearing the conversation doesn't succeed, the sandbox still closes or resets rather than leaving you stuck.
