How do I edit or delete a user in Identity Management?

Objective

This article shows you how to update a user's email addresses, phone numbers, or trusted metadata, and how to delete a user record you no longer need.

Product

Identity Management

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

To edit a user:

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Identity & security in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Identity Management, then Users.
  3. Open the actions menu at the end of the user's row and select Update. Alternatively, open the user's record and select Edit user on the Details tab.
  4. In the Edit user panel, change the Email addresses or Phone numbers, separating multiple values with commas, and update Trusted metadata under Claims & metadata if needed.
  5. Select Save changes.
  6. A confirmation appears.

To delete a user:

  1. From the Users table, open the actions menu at the end of the user's row and select Delete. Alternatively, open the user's record and select Delete user.
  2. Confirm the deletion when asked.
  3. A confirmation appears. If you deleted from the user's own record, you are returned to the users list.

Additional Information

The user must still have at least one email address or phone number after your edit.

Phone numbers must remain in E.164 format, including the country code and + prefix, and trusted metadata must remain valid JSON.

Scopes are not editable from this panel, change them from the user's Scopes tab.

An edit or a deletion may take a few seconds to appear in the table.
