How do I change a user's role assignment?

Objective

This article helps you change which roles a user holds within a given scope on your account, without removing their access entirely.

Product

Twilio Console

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Settings in the left sidebar.
  2. Under Account settings, select User management.
  3. On the Active users page, open the actions menu for the user and select Edit role assignments.
  4. On the Role assignment page, review the table columns Scope name & type, Role, and Actions.
  5. Select Edit on the row you want to change.
  6. In the Edit a role assignment dialog, the Scope is shown for reference. Update the Role(s) selection.
  7. Select Save changes.
  8. A confirmation appears: "You have successfully updated the role assignments."

Additional Information

  • Edit is disabled for organization-scoped rows. Hovering the disabled action explains that organization scope role assignments can only be managed in Organization setting.
  • The table includes role assignments on subaccounts as well as on this account.
  • Use Add filters and the Role filter to narrow a long list of assignments.
  • If nothing matches your filters, the page shows "No role assignments found" and suggests adjusting your search or filters.
