How do I view and rename an API key?

Objective

This article helps you check the details of an existing API key, its identifier, type, region, and creation dates, and give it a clearer name.

Product

Twilio Console

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Builder tools in the left sidebar.
  2. Select API Key & creds, then API Keys & auth tokens.
  3. On the API keys tab, select the name of the key you want to review.
  4. On the API key details tab, review the Details section: friendly name, region, SID, key type, and the created and updated dates.
  5. To rename the key, select Edit name.
  6. In the panel that opens, change Friendly name and select Save.
  7. A confirmation appears: "You have successfully updated the API key name."

Additional Information

  • Renaming a key does not change its SID, secret, or permissions.
  • If the details cannot be loaded, the page shows "Unable to load API Key details", reload the page and try again.
