How do I change the permissions on an API key?

Objective

This article helps you review and update which products and resources a restricted API key is allowed to access, so the key keeps only the access your application needs.

Product

Twilio Console

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Builder tools in the left sidebar.
  2. Select API Key & creds, then API Keys & auth tokens.
  3. On the API keys tab, select the name of the key you want to change.
  4. Select the Permissions tab.
  5. Select Edit.
  6. Use the search box to find a product or resource, then select or clear the permissions you want.
  7. Select Save. A confirmation appears: "You have successfully updated the permissions." The tab returns to read-only view.

Additional Information

  • Permissions apply to restricted keys. Main and Standard keys are not scoped by this list.
  • Changes take effect for new API requests made with that key.
