Objective
This article helps you add a single IP address or a whole range to the list of addresses allowed to reach the Twilio API on your account.
Product
Twilio Console
Environment
Twilio Console
Procedure
- In the Twilio Console, select Settings in the left sidebar.
- Under Account settings, select IP ACL.
- Select Add IP address.
- In the Add IP address panel, enter a Friendly name for IP address so you can recognise the entry later.
- Choose A single IP address or A range of IP addresses.
- For a single address, enter it in the IP address field. For a range, enter the Base IP address.
- Select Add.
- A confirmation appears: "IP address added successfully." The entry appears in the IP addresses table.
Additional Information
- Addresses must be valid IPv4 values. Entries that are too long, have the wrong number of parts, contain non-numeric characters, use leading zeros, or contain a value above 255 are all rejected with "Please enter a valid IP address."
- If your account has no access control list yet, adding fails with "No access control list found. Please reload the page and try again."
- Adding an address does not enforce anything on its own, set the enforcement mode in the Enable IP ACL section.
- If the entry cannot be saved, the page reports "Failed to add IP address. Please try again."
- The empty list shows "Secure your account by IP address" together with a Learn more link.
