How do I delete a public key?

Objective

This article helps you remove a public key from your Twilio account when the key pair is no longer in use.

Product

Twilio Console

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

An account role that allows you to delete public keys. Without it, the Delete action is not shown.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Settings in the left sidebar.
  2. Under Account settings, select Public keys.
  3. Select Delete on the key's row, or open the key and select Delete on its details page.
  4. In the Delete public key dialog, check that the name shown is the key you mean, then confirm.
  5. A confirmation appears: "Public key deleted successfully." If you deleted from the key's page, you are returned to the list.

Additional Information

  • If the key has no friendly name, the dialog identifies it by its identifier instead.
  • Select Cancel to keep the key.
  • Any request signed with the matching private key will stop validating once the public key is removed.
