How do I duplicate an alarm?

Objective

Create a new alarm from an existing one, so you can reuse its conditions, threshold, and notification settings and only change the few details that differ.

Product

Twilio Console

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Monitor in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Alerts, then Alarms.
  3. Select the Manage alarms tab.
  4. Find the alarm you want to copy, open the actions menu at the end of its row, and select Duplicate.
  5. The Create alarm form opens in a side panel, pre-filled with the original alarm's settings and the name Copy of followed by the original name.
  6. Replace the name with one of your own and adjust any other settings you want to change.
  7. Select Create alarm. The new alarm appears in the Manage alarms list alongside the original.

Additional Information

  • Duplicating does not change the original alarm in any way, it stays exactly as it was.
  • Each alarm needs its own name, so change the pre-filled Copy of name before saving if you want something more descriptive.
  • The copy is created enabled, regardless of whether the original was on or off.
