How do I let my users sign in with Google?

Objective

This article shows you how to configure Google as a sign-in method in Identity Management, so your users can log in to your application with a Google account.

Product

Identity Management

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Identity & security in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Identity Management, then Authentication Methods.
  3. Find the Google card. Its badge shows Not configured or Configured.
  4. Select Configure.
  5. In the Configure Google panel, under Provider Credentials, enter the credentials from Google:
  6. Client ID
  7. Client secret
  8. Select Test connection to check the credentials.
  9. Select Save.
  10. A confirmation appears and the card's badge changes to Configured.

To change the credentials later, select Manage on the card, update the fields, and select Update.

To remove the connection, select Manage, then Delete connection, and confirm.

Additional Information

Both Client ID and Client secret are required when you first configure the provider. When you update an existing connection, leave the secret blank to keep the stored one, it is shown masked.

Deleting a connection removes that sign-in method. Users who rely only on Google to sign in will no longer be able to log in, so confirm they have another method first.

To discard your changes without saving, select Discard changes.
