How do I edit or delete a custom scope?

Objective

This article shows you how to change the description or contents of an existing custom scope, and how to remove a scope you no longer need.

Product

Identity for AI Agents

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

To edit a scope:

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Identity & security in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Identity for AI Agents, then Custom Scopes.
  3. Open the actions menu at the end of the scope's row and select Edit scope.
  4. Change the Description, and add or remove entries under Contains.
  5. Select Save. A confirmation appears and the table shows the updated values.

To delete a scope:

  1. Open the actions menu at the end of the scope's row and select Delete scope.
  2. Read the Delete scope? confirmation, which names the scope and warns that clients and users relying on it will lose the access it grants.
  3. Select Delete. A confirmation appears and the scope is removed from the table.

Additional Information

The scope name cannot be changed after creation, it is the scope's identifier, so editing it would create a different scope. The field is shown but not editable when you edit.

Reserved scopes cannot be deleted; Delete scope is unavailable on those rows and explains why. On a reserved scope you can edit only the description, since its contained scopes are managed for you.

Deleting a scope cannot be undone.
