How do I add a JavaScript or mobile data source?

Objective

This article helps you connect your website or mobile app to Conversation Memory as a data source, and get the installation steps you need to start sending activity from it.

Product

Conversation Memory

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Data in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Conversation Memory, then Data sources.
  3. Select Add source. The wizard opens on the Connect step.
  4. Choose the kind of source you are connecting, for example JavaScript for a website or Swift for an iOS app.
  5. Enter a Source name. For a JavaScript source, also enter the Website URL.
  6. Select Next.
  7. Review the Installation steps for the source you chose. For a JavaScript source these are split into Option A: HTML snippet and Option B: Package manager; for a Swift source they explain how to add the library to your Swift package dependencies.
  8. Select Next to finish. You are returned to the Data sources list with the new source added.

Additional Information

  • You must choose a source type before continuing, otherwise Please select a source. appears.
  • A source name must be at least 2 characters long.
  • A website URL must start with https://. A plain http:// address is rejected with Website URL must start with https://.
  • The Website URL field only applies to a website source, so it does not appear for a mobile source.
  • If you cancel partway through, a dialog asks you to confirm. Select Close without saving to discard the source and return to the list.
  • You can copy the installation steps again later from the source's own pages, so there is no need to complete the installation before finishing the wizard.
