How do I get started with Conversation Intelligence?

Objective

This article helps you find Conversation Intelligence in the Twilio Console, understand how its pieces fit together, and complete the guided setup that produces a working Intelligence configuration you can start getting results from.

Product

Conversation Intelligence

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Orchestration in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Conversation Intelligence, then Overview.
  3. Read the HOW IT WORKS section, which explains the four decisions behind every result: which Operators run, what Context enriches them, what Triggers cause them to run, and what Action is taken with their results.
  4. In the Get started with Conversation Intelligence section, select Get started.
  5. Work through the three tasks in order:
  6. Create a Conversation configuration, this decides which conversations your Intelligence configuration gives you insights for.
  7. Create an Intelligence configuration, this defines everything that makes up your Conversation Intelligence setup. It is connected to the Conversation configuration you selected automatically.
  8. Create rule, a rule defines when your Intelligence configuration runs and what outputs you get.
  9. When all three tasks are complete you see a confirmation that your Intelligence configuration is set up, with Go to Intelligence configurations to review it.
  10. Once setup is complete, the overview page shows Manage Intelligence configurations and results instead, which takes you straight to your configurations.

Additional Information

You can edit rules at any time after setup, and review analyzed conversations from the Intelligence configuration itself.

The overview page also links to worked use cases, script adherence, conversation summaries, sentiment analysis, next best response, and building a custom operator, and to Explore language operators, where you can browse Twilio-authored operators or build your own.

Rules require at least one language operator, so it is worth browsing the operator library before you start if you are not sure what analysis you want.
