Objective
After you add a custom domain, verification depends on DNS records outside Twilio. This article shows you where to see each domain's status, review the exact records it expects, and re-run verification.
Product
Fraud Risk Engine
Environment
Twilio Console
Procedure
- In the Twilio Console, select Identity & security in the left sidebar.
- Select Fraud Risk Engine, then Domains.
- Review the table. Each row shows a Domain name and its Status:
- Verified, the domain is ready to use.
- Unverified, Twilio is still waiting on your DNS records.
- Provisioning, shown on the Twilio-provided default domain while it is being set up.
- Failed, verification cannot complete.
- Select a custom domain's name to open its detail panel.
- Under DNS configuration, compare the Type, Host, and Value of each record, the A records, the CNAME record, and the CAA record, against what your DNS provider actually holds. Use the copy control beside each value.
- If the domain is still unverified and you have corrected your records, select Re-verify beside the status badge.
Additional Information
- The first row is the default domain Twilio provisions for your account. It has no detail panel, its records are Twilio's to manage, and it cannot be deleted or re-verified.
- Verification can take up to 48 hours after your records are in place, so an Unverified status shortly after adding a domain is expected.
- A Failed domain reports Your domain cannot be verified. Please delete the domain and try again, correcting DNS alone will not clear it.
- If the table is empty, Twilio explains why. Device intelligence is not set up yet means an account administrator needs to finish setting up Fraud Risk Engine first, and Couldn't set up your account's default domain means provisioning failed, try again shortly or contact Twilio Support.
