How do I update the credentials for a CRM source?

Objective

This article helps you refresh the Salesforce credentials behind a CRM source, which is what you need after rotating a consumer key or private key, or when syncs start failing with an authentication error.

Product

Conversation Memory

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your role must allow reading Conversation Memory memory stores and updating them.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Data in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Conversation Memory, then Memory stores.
  3. Select the store, then open the Data sources tab and choose CRM.
  4. Select the mapping that uses the source, then open the Settings tab of its detail panel.
  5. Under Source settings, select Edit source settings. The Edit CRM source page opens with the current values filled in.
  6. Update the Username if it has changed, enter the Consumer key, and upload the private key file.
  7. Select Next to reach the Review step and check the values, then select Save. You are returned to the CRM mappings page.

Additional Information

  • Name, Environment, and Instance URL cannot be changed on an existing source, those fields are unavailable. To point at a different Salesforce instance, connect a new source instead.
  • You cannot move past the first step without entering a consumer key.
  • On the review step the credential values are masked.
  • CRM sources are saved at the account level, so updating the credentials here fixes every mapping that uses the same source.
