How do I see the details of a messaging Intelligent Alert?

Objective

This article shows you how to open a single Intelligent Alert to see what triggered it, which carrier route and subaccount were affected, how the error volume compared to the detection threshold, and what Twilio recommends you do about it.

Product

Programmable Messaging

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your user needs permission to list and read Intelligent Alerts events on the account.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Messaging, then Messaging intelligence.
  3. In the Alerts log table, select the alert's Date and Time value, or the link in its Details column.
  4. The alert details panel opens on the Alert details tab. Review the summary fields:
  5. Alert ID, Error code, and Errors
  6. Time of occurrence, the window in UTC during which the errors happened
  7. Impacted account friendly name and Impacted account ID
  8. MCC/MNC and Carrier route
  9. Alert threshold, the error count that had to be exceeded for the alert to trigger
  10. Number of errors, Channel, and Impact level
  11. Impacted messages, select View messages to open the messaging logs for the affected messages
  12. Below the summary, review the Error trend chart, which compares the current error volume against the dynamic threshold for the alert window. The How does the dynamic threshold work? card explains how that baseline is set.
  13. Select the Diagnose and recommendations tab to read the Error descriptions, Possible causes, and Possible solutions for the error code that triggered the alert.

Additional Information

The dynamic threshold is set by a real-time detection model based on your own messaging traffic patterns; an alert is raised when error volume crosses that baseline.

Selecting the subaccount name in the Impacted subaccount column of the alerts log opens that account's details instead of the alert.

The details panel also includes a Is this alert helpful? control so you can send feedback on the alert.
