How do I delete a trait field or trait group?

Objective

This article helps you remove a trait field you no longer collect, or remove a whole trait group, so your customer profiles only carry the fields you actually use.

Product

Conversation Memory

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your role must allow listing and updating Conversation Memory trait groups to delete a trait field, and deleting trait groups to remove a whole group.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Data in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Conversation Memory, then Memory stores.
  3. Select the store, then open the Traits tab.
  4. To remove a single trait field, open the actions menu at the end of its row and select Delete trait field, then confirm.
  5. To remove a whole group, select Delete trait group on that group's card, then confirm.

Additional Information

  • The default Contact trait group cannot be deleted, and its default traits cannot be deleted either, those actions are unavailable.
  • Deleting a trait removes that field from the store's configuration. Check for CRM, warehouse, or CSV mappings that point at the trait before removing it, so those mappings do not lose their target.
