How do I delete a data source?

Objective

This article helps you permanently remove a web or mobile data source from Conversation Memory, along with the write keys that belong to it.

Product

Conversation Memory

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Data in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Conversation Memory, then Data sources.
  3. Select the source you want to remove, then open its Settings page.
  4. Select Delete source.
  5. The Delete data source? confirmation appears, warning that this will permanently remove the data source and all its write keys.
  6. Confirm the deletion. A Data source deleted successfully confirmation appears and you are returned to the Data sources list.

Additional Information

  • To back out, cancel the confirmation dialog. Nothing is deleted and you stay on the source's settings page.
  • Deleting a source invalidates its write keys, so any website or app still using them stops sending data.
  • If the deletion fails, a Failed to delete event source message appears and you stay on the settings page.
  • If you only want to stop collection temporarily, disable the source instead.
