Objective
This article helps you connect Salesforce to a memory store as a CRM data source, which is the first of the three steps needed before CRM data can flow into your customer profiles.
Product
Conversation Memory
Environment
Twilio Console
User Account Permission/Role(s) Required
Your role must allow reading Conversation Memory memory stores.
Procedure
- In the Twilio Console, select Data in the left sidebar.
- Select Conversation Memory, then Memory stores.
- Select the store, then open the Data sources tab and choose CRM.
- Select Create mapping (or New mapping if you already have mappings). The Create CRM mapping task list opens with three tasks: Configure data source, Configure a dataset, and Add a mapping.
- Select Configure data source.
- On Select data source, choose New data source to connect a new CRM, or Existing data source to reuse one already saved on the account. Select Next.
- If you chose New data source, fill in the Select CRM step: enter a Name, then the Username, Instance URL, and Consumer key, and upload your private key file. If you chose Existing data source, pick the source from the dropdown.
- Select Next to reach the Review step and check the details you entered.
- Select Finish. You are returned to the Create CRM mapping task list with the source recorded, ready for you to configure a dataset.
Additional Information
- Only Salesforce is currently supported as a CRM. HubSpot, Pipedrive, and other CRM platforms will be available in the future.
- The Existing data source option only appears when your account already has at least one saved CRM source.
- CRM sources are saved at the account level, so a source connected here can be reused by other mappings and other memory stores.
- Connecting a source is only step one. You then need to configure a dataset and map its columns to customer profile traits before data reaches your profiles.
