Why are some accounts in my accounts list limited or unavailable?

Objective

This article explains why certain accounts in your My accounts list cannot be opened, or offer fewer options than others, and what you can do about each case.

Product

Twilio Console

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select your account name in the top bar to open the account switcher.
  2. Select View my accounts.
  3. Check the Status column for the account in question, then open its Quick links menu to see which options are available.
  4. Act on what you find:
  5. Dormant, the account has been inactive. The only option is Resolve dormancy; select it and follow the steps to reactivate the account before you can use it again.
  6. Suspended, the account, or its parent account, has been suspended. The only option is Go to account home, where you can review the suspension. Usage-related pages are not offered while an account is suspended.
  7. Closed, the account has been shut down permanently. Its name is not a link and Go to account home is greyed out, so the account cannot be opened.
  8. Active, the full set of quick links is available.

Additional Information

  • On a subaccount, View subaccounts is not offered, because a subaccount cannot itself have subaccounts. Use Go to main account to reach the parent account and manage subaccounts from there.
  • On a trial account, Upgrade account appears at the top of the menu. Upgrading removes trial restrictions; the Upgraded column then shows Yes.
  • Use the Status and Dormancy filters if you want to see only the accounts in a particular state.
