Objective
As of July 1, 2026, unregistered Alphanumeric Sender IDs and international long codes sent to networks in Iraq are delivered on a best-effort basis. This means delivery is not guaranteed, and some messages may fail to reach your customers.
To ensure your traffic continues without interruption, you must register your Alphanumeric Sender IDs. Please note that approvals can take up to 3 to 4 weeks, so we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible.
Documentation Requirements
To register your Alphanumeric Sender ID, Iraq network operators require specific documentation. Please ensure all documents are filled out completely and accurately, as mobile network carriers are very strict regarding these details.
For All Businesses: A Business Registration certificate (or equivalent document) that proves the legitimacy of your business.
For Banks and Financial Institutions Only: A Business Registration certificate AND a signed Letter of Authorization (LOA) for Iraq - template can be found below
Instructions
1.Navigate to the Sender ID page:
Log in to the Twilio Console
2.Start a new registration:
Click Add a new Sender ID and select Iraq as the recipient country.
3.Provide your information:
Follow the on-screen prompts to fill out the required details, including:
- The Sender ID you want to use
- The type of traffic (transactional or promotional)
- Whether you are the sender or registering on behalf of someone else
- Your business information (address, email, etc.)
- Estimated monthly message volume, use case, and sample messages
4.Upload documentation:
Attach your Business Registration certificate and, if you are a financial institution, your Letter of Authorization.
5.Submit your application:
Once submitted, a ticket will automatically be created. Our team will review your application and keep you updated on its status. You can also track your progress at any time under the Global registrations.
