Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change my billing country?
The billing country is locked because it determines your Functional Currency, the specific Twilio Entity that bills you, and taxation compliance. To change this, you must contact Support.
Can I have one invoice for multiple Billing Groups?
No. A core principle of the new model is one invoice per Billing Group to ensure clear financial separation for different departments or entities.
What is the difference between "Account Usage" and "Billing Group Usage"?
Account Usage shows estimated usage for a single specific account. The Usage tab in Billing provides an aggregated view of consumption for all accounts within that Billing Group.
Why don't I see the "Billing" tab?
In new Twilio Console, billing is managed at the Organization level. If you are a "Standard User" at the Org level, you may not have the required permissions. Ask your Org Admin to grant you a Billing Group Admin or Viewer role.
Can different Billing Groups use different payment methods?
Yes. Each Billing Group operates independently, allowing you to assign unique credit cards or payment types (e.g., Invoicing for one group and Credit Card for another).
I'm a technical lead; why do I suddenly see financial data?
In the new Twilio Console, the Organization Administrator role now includes full billing rights by default. If this access is not desired for technical roles, permissions should be adjusted to a more restricted role.
Can I add a new account directly to an existing Billing Group?
Invoiced customers please contact Support.
