Frequently Asked Questions
Who can use Twilio through Stripe Projects?
Currently this integration is available to customers in the United States — you'll need a US billing address and be accessing from a US IP address.
Who charges me — Stripe or Twilio?
Twilio is the merchant of record. Stripe will be the payment method provider. Any charges for Twilio Email will appear from Twilio.
Am I charged monthly for the amount I selected in the Stripe CLI?
No, Twilio uses a pay-as-you-go model. You will top up your account with the specified amount in the Stripe CLI, and we will deduct from that balance based on your usage of Twilio products. Once your account balance drops below $10, your account will be topped up to the specified amount you selected in the Stripe CLI. You can manage your auto-recharge settings in the Twilio Console.
Can I use other Twilio products with the credentials I get through Stripe?
Yes! The credentials issued through the Stripe CLI are scoped to Twilio Email only, but you can use other Twilio products in the Twilio Console.
I have my credentials — what do I do next to start sending emails?
Before you can send emails, you'll need to authenticate your sender domain. Log in to Twilio Console to complete domain authentication. This is a one-time setup step that helps protect your sender reputation and ensures your emails are delivered reliably.
Why am I being asked to log in instead of getting credentials automatically?
A few things can cause this:
- You already have a Twilio account. If your email address is associated with an existing Twilio account, or if your email domain is managed centrally under a verified Twilio organization, we'll ask you to log in to confirm your identity, or you might not be able to create a Twilio account depending on your Orgs’ membership settings.
- If you'd like to provision a separate Twilio Email account, try using a Stripe account registered with a different email address that isn't already associated with Twilio.
Can I upgrade my Twilio Email plan through the Stripe CLI?
Twilio uses a pay-as-you-go pricing model for Email, meaning you are not subscribing to a plan, but have selected a starting balance and an auto-recharge amount when you sign up via Stripe. You can add funds, manage your auto-recharge amount by logging in to Twilio Console and manage your subscription from there.
Can I remove or cancel my Twilio Email account through the Stripe CLI?
Not at this time. Because your account may have a remaining balance or active resources, we want to make sure any removal is handled carefully. Please visit the Twilio Console to manage account removal. Agentic support for this may come in a future release.
