Overview
If you’ve created an Elastic SIP Trunk in Twilio but can’t find it in the Twilio Console, it’s likely due to Twilio’s region-specific resource management. Each SIP trunk is created in a specific region (such as US1 or AU1), and trunks are only visible when you are viewing the correct region in the Console.
Environment
legacy Twilio Console
What You Need To Know
Common Scenario
You created a SIP trunk (for example, “MA_TECH_SIP”) in the Australia (AU1) region, but when you log in to the Twilio Console, you don’t see it listed. This usually happens if you are viewing the US1 (United States) region by default.
How to View and Pin Your SIP Trunk in the Correct Region
Follow these steps to locate and pin your SIP trunk in the Twilio Console:
- Go to Twilio Console and log in with your credentials.
- Select the Correct Region
- In the left navigation menu, scroll to the bottom and click Explore Products (under the “Develop” tab).
- In the “Super Network” section, find the Voice card.
- Click the down arrow next to the pin icon to display available regions.
-
Find Australia (AU1) and click the pin icon to pin it.
- If this is your first product pinned for AU1, a new collapsible section for AU1 will appear in the left menu.
- Navigate to SIP Trunks in the AU1 Region
- Expand the Australia (AU1) section in the left navigation menu.
- Go to Voice → Manage → SIP Trunks.
- You will now see the list of SIP trunks created in the AU1 region, including your trunk (e.g., “Trunk_SIP”).
- Pin Your Trunk for Easy Access
- Hover over your trunk’s name in the list.
- Click the pin icon that appears next to the trunk name.
- The trunk will now be pinned and easily accessible from your Console dashboard.
Conclusion
- Region Isolation: SIP trunks and related resources are region-specific. Trunks created in AU1 will not appear in the US1 region, and vice versa.
- Authentication Resources: IP Access Control Lists and Credential Lists are also region-specific.
- Phone Numbers: While phone numbers are global, their configuration is region-specific.
Still Can’t Find Your Trunk?
- Double-check that you are viewing the correct region in the Console.
- If you still don’t see your trunk, ensure it was created in the intended region.
