Deferred (no IPs are available for this account ) Status When Sending Emails from Subuser account

Issue

Emails sent from a subuser account may be deferred with the following error:

No IPs are available for this account

This indicates that the subuser account does not have a dedicated IP address assigned.

Product

Twilio SendGrid (Email)

Cause

When creating a subuser account, the parent account owner may forget to assign a dedicated IP address. As a result, any emails sent from the subuser account will be deferred due to the lack of an available IP.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, assign a dedicated IP address to the subuser account by following these steps:

  1. Log in to the parent account.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Subuser Management.
  3. Click on the relevant subuser.
  4. Click the "Change Sending" button next to Domain Authentication/Link Branding.
  5. Assign the dedicated IP address by checking the box next to it.
  6. Click "Save" to apply the changes.

Best Practices

To prevent this issue in the future, please make sure to always assign a dedicated IP address and authenticate the domain when creating a subuser account. This ensures smooth email delivery from the subuser account.
