Why the alternate emails for some contacts keep disappearing?

Question

Why when I upload a contact with an alternate email, said alternate is not display, and why if I manually enter it, it disappears after re-loading the contact info?

Answer

The reason is that the alternate already appears as a primary email for another contact. Our system is designed to prevent duplication, so the alternate email is automatically removed during the processing of a CSV file, or right after you have clicked the "Save" button when manually entering that information within the SendGrid.
