Error "You have reached the maximum number of projects allowed for your account."

Twilio users who are unable to create a new project may see the following error message:

You have reached the maximum number of projects allowed for your account. Please contact support to increase your limit.

In general, Twilio encourages users to keep different Twilio projects for different use cases, testing versus production, or for special products like the Twilio Flex programmable contact center, and the Twilio Programmable Voice <Pay> verb (Beta). That said, we do have a default limit of 10 projects with the same email listed in the "Owner" role.

Users who need to create additional projects have two options:

  1. Create a new project under a different email address. This means that the newly created project will have a different "Owner", but the email from your earlier projects can still be invited to this new project, and given full administrator-level access.
  2. Reach out to our Customer Support team, and we can increase your project limit.

Either of these options will remove this error, and have you creating new Twilio projects in no time. For further questions or concerns, please contact our Support team.
