Change owner of Twilio Account that is managed by Twilio Organization

Objective

This process is used for transferring ownership of a Main Twilio Account that is already part of Organization.

It is best suited for cases where the company is actively using the Twilio Organizations - their company domain is verified and the current and new owner of the account are part of the organization, or can be invited into it.

If your accounts and users are not actively managed by a Twilio Organization, please check the article here.

Product

Twilio Account Management

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Owner or Admin in Organization

Prerequisites

Domains
A verified Domain is also required when adding Managed Users to your Organization. Only users with email domains matching the verified Domain(s) can be added as Managed Users to the Organization. If the Organization does not have a verified Domain, you will need to add a Domain before users can be managed by the Organization.

For the new owner:

For the account that is having their ownership changed:

      • The account and old owner are Managed Account and User in your organization.
      • If the account is not managed by the Organization - you will need to invite the user or import them to it with a user that is a Owner or Admin in the Organization.
      • The account is a Main account, Twilio does not support separate ownership for subaccounts.

Procedure

  1. Browse to Accounts inside the Organizations Twilio Admin and click on the account you'd want to change the owner of.
