Can I Test Twilio’s REST API Within my Application Without Actually Making the Request?

Twilio recommends the following methods for testing your applications:

Twilio Test Credentials

Every Twilio project is automatically assigned a set of test credentials that can be used for validating your applications. API requests can be made with test credentials for searching and purchasing phone numbers, sending SMS messages, and placing calls. Test credentials only work with specific test phone numbers that each produce a different outcome. For full details, including the test phone numbers for each API resource, please see our Test Credentials API documentation.

To find your test credentials, login to your account at www.twilio.com/console, and then click Settings.

Twilio Free Trial

New Twilio projects are automatically enrolled in a free trial. The free trial supports more products than the test credentials, so it may be a better fit for testing some applications.

For full details on trial offerings and limitations, please see our article How Does Twilio's Free Trial Work?
