Twilio's MMS Converter feature will automatically include a URL in place of an attachment when sending messages to carrier destinations where we don't support picture messaging. MMS converter is enabled by default on Twilio accounts, and its URLs consist of p.twil.io followed by a unique character string. Here's an example of what this might look like:

When you attempt to send an MMS message, Twilio will check if the recipient phone number number is registered to one of the carriers we support for MMS. If not, Twilio will attempt a standard SMS instead, and include a shortened URL in the body as a link to your media.
Can I disabled MMS Converter?
MMS Converter is enabled by default on Twilio accounts, but it can be turned off.
- Account-wide: MMS Converter can be turned off or on for your entire account from the General SMS Settings page in Console.
- Messaging Service: MMS Converter can be turned off or on separately for each Messaging Service from the "Content Settings" page for specific Messaging Services.
