When your Authy app has a lot of 2FA account tokens stored, it can become hard to navigate and find the token(s) you're looking for. This guide explains how to search for and reorder your account tokens to help make finding the tokens you need easier.
Search for a token
The Authy app has a built-in search tool to help find a token you're looking for. Here's how to use the search in each version of the app:
Search for an account token with the Authy iOS app
- Open the Authy iOS app.
- Tap the Search bar at the top of the app.
- Type the name of the account token you need.
- The security code will be displayed on-screen.
Search for an account token with the Authy Android app
- Open the Authy Android app.
- Tap the
icon in the top right corner.
- Type the name of the account token you need.
- Tap on the account token to view your security code.
Search for an account token with the Authy Desktop app
Notice: The Authy Desktop app reached its End-of-Life on March 19, 2024. For full details, see Authy for Desktop End of Life (EOL).
- Open the Authy desktop App.
- Click the search bar at the top of the app.
- Type the name of the account token you need.
- Click on the account token to view your security code.
Move tokens
The Authy app allows you to move or reorder your saved 2FA account tokens to more easily access the ones you use the most. Here's how to change the order or your tokens in each version of the app:
Move your account tokens with the Authy apps for iOS and Android
- Open the Authy App.
- Tap and hold the token you want to move, and then drop it into your preferred position.
Moving a token in this way will save the new location on your current Authy device only. This change can't be synced to other devices. To replicate your token order on other devices, you will need to manually move them.
Move your account tokens with the Authy Desktop app
The Authy Desktop app does not currently support reordering account tokens.
