Authy allows users to manually change or update their email account via the app. All you need to do is open the app, and access the Settings menu. This guide explains step-by-step how to update email addresses in each of the different Authy apps.

Notice: This process can be completed from an Authy app configured with your account, or manually by the Authy support team. If you don't have access to your account, but need to change your email address, please contact our Support team.

Update your Email Address with the Authy iOS app

1. Open the Authy iOS app.
2. Tap Settings in the upper right corner of the screen.
3. Tap the email field.
4. Add your new email address, and then tap Change Email.
5. A notice screen will be displayed letting you know that we sent an email to your inbox to confirm your request.
6. Open the confirmation email in your inbox, and then click Change my email to complete the process.

Update your Email Address with the Authy Android app

1. Open the Authy Android app.
2. Tap the … (menu) icon in the upper right corner, and then select Settings.
3. Tap Email.
4. Add your new email address, and then tap Change Email.
5. A notice screen will be displayed letting you know that we sent an email to your inbox to confirm your request.
6. Open the confirmation email in your inbox, and then click Change my email to complete the process.

Update your Email Address with the Authy Desktop app

Notice: The Authy Desktop app reached its End-of-Life on March 19, 2024. For full details, see Authy for Desktop End of Life (EOL).

1. Open the Authy desktop App.
2. Click the Settings (Gear) icon.
3. Click General
4. Click Edit in the email field.
5. Add your new email address, and then click Save.
6. A notice screen will be displayed letting you know that the request is pending for approval.
7. Open the confirmation email in your inbox, and then click Change my email to complete the process.
