Objective
Twitch Streamers and some viewers may not be able to successfully login to their Twitch account if they are unable to access the Authy two-factor authentication (2FA) code. While the Authy Support team is unable to disable 2FA from your Twitch account, we can help you regain access to your Authy account. This guide is intended to help you with this process as efficiently as possible.

Procedure
I never signed up for Authy
Authy handles all 2FA for Twitch users. When you enable 2FA on your Twitch account, an Authy account with a unique ID is automatically generated for you at that time, and linked to your phone number. It's possible that you may have accessed your Twitch account via SMS, and therefore you are not aware that you have an Authy account. However, this account does exist in order to deliver the security code.
Users who are unable to access their Twitch account via SMS have two options:
- If you still have the phone number you originally used when setting up 2FA on Twitch, install the Authy app. Once installed, enter your phone number to register your account. If this phone number matches the phone number used to setup 2FA on Twitch, you should see the Twitch 2FA account token automatically. Click or tap on this token to see your security code.
- If you no longer have the phone number you originally used to set up 2FA on Twitch, you will need to request a Phone Number Change so that you can receive 2FA security codes on your new number.
You can start the process here: https://authy.com/phones/change/?proceed=true.
Notice: The Phone Number Change process takes 2-4 business days; it cannot be rushed due to security protocols.
I changed the phone number used for 2FA on my Twitch account
If you need to update your phone number on your existing Authy account, but don't have access to another Authy app installation linked to your previous number, you will need to request a Phone Number Change.
You can start the process here: https://authy.com/phones/change/?proceed=true.
Notice: The Phone Number Change process takes 2-4 business days; it cannot be rushed due to security protocols.
Users who have another Authy app installation linked to your previous phone number can use the Twitch 2FA account token from this installation to login. You can also manually update your phone number yourself within the application from Settings > Phone Number.
I installed the Authy app, but don't see a Twitch 2FA account token
As long as the phone number used to setup 2FA on Twitch matches the phone number used to register your account in the Authy app, your Twitch 2FA account token will automatically be displayed in Authy.
If your Twitch 2FA account token is not visible on your current Authy installation, it is likely that it is linked to a previous phone number. To resolve this issue, you will need to request a Phone Number Change.

I don’t have a QR code to add my Twitch token to Authy
As long as the phone number used to setup 2FA on Twitch matches the phone number used to register your account in the Authy app, your Twitch 2FA account token will automatically be displayed in Authy. You won’t need a QR code to add this token.

I want to disable 2FA from my Twitch account
Once 2FA is enabled on your Twitch account, Authy does not have the power to remove it. This is a security option that can only be modified by you or Twitch directly.
We may be able to help you update the phone number linked to your 2FA so that you can start receiving your security codes again.
I no longer have an active wireless service or phone number
We are only able to deliver security codes to a registered phone number. We do not support email, one time codes, or other means to provide a security code. Users who no longer have an active wireless service phone number will need to contact Twitch directly, and ask them to disable 2FA on their account.
