Latest A2P 10DLC customer advisory (May 27, 2021)

This article contains the latest customer advisory Twilio sent to our customers via email about A2P 10DLC on May 27, 2021. We will update this page each time a new advisory is sent.

There are important A2P 10DLC registration updates, onboarding guidance, and carrier fees surrounding the new routes on AT&T and T-Mobile.

As part of the application-to-person 10-digit long code transition in the United States (see What is A2P 10DLC?), we have successfully onboarded our next phase of customers to the new routes. As a reminder, we are employing a phased onboarding approach; you will receive an email notification when it is time for you to begin onboarding.

We’d like to take the opportunity to emphasize updates around registration as we continue our phased onboarding approach:

Registration Updates (Direct Customers)

  • If your business has messaging use cases spread out across a primary Twilio account as well as subaccounts, it is not currently possible to share your Primary Business Profile and U.S. A2P Brand to your subaccounts. If this applies to you, please start by registering your Primary Business Profile and U.S. A2P Brand on your parent account. You can also register any Campaign use cases for long codes sending messages on your parent account.
  • Special Campaign Use Cases, such as Charity, do not currently allow for full end-to-end registration due to the additional approval requirements. We are finalizing the workflows necessary to streamline the approval process.
  • We are currently working with our ecosystem partners to define how non-US customers sending messages via 10-digit long codes in the United States will register for A2P 10DLC. We will update you as a path forward is defined.
  • You can track the current status of limitations in the A2P pilot stage in our support article

Fee Updates

An Update to Biweekly Advisories

This will be the last in the series of biweekly updates for A2P 10DLC. In the future, we will inform you of updates specifically relevant to your business, including onboarding access and when we remove limitations

We look forward to our continued partnership to ensure you benefit from a transparent, verified local long code ecosystem.
